(NEXSTAR) – It had to happen sometime.Urban Outfitters, the Philadelphia-based retail chain that specializes in “on-trend” apparel, is now selling refurbished iPods at the company’s online marketplace, where each device is billed as a “a genuine piece of vintage retro tech.”Even more surprising? The old MP3 players have proved to be a hot item, according to the company.“Current inventory is sold out, but more inventory should be made available for each model as early as a couple of weeks,” a representative for Urban Outfitters told Nexstar on Tuesday. What was the last movie released on VHS? The iPod, first introduced in 2001, proved to be a big hit for Apple, selling hundreds of millions of units in the following decades. The iPod itself also evolved considerably, with five different models — each with their own generations — being released during the product’s run.The entire product line was ultimately discontinued in May 2022. Still, there appears to be continued demand f...RECALL: Kroger bagged collard greens may have listeria contamination

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – An off-duty pilot who allegedly tried to bring down a commercial flight from Washington to California on Sunday engaged in casual conversation prior to "losing it," according to court documents. The documents, released Tuesday, recounted the moments leading up to the incident. Horizon Airlines Flight 2059 was forced to make an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday evening after a “credible threat to an authorized occupant” on board. Authorities said an off-duty pilot, identified as 44-year-old Joseph D. Emerson, was sitting in the plane's jump seat and allegedly “attempted to disrupt the operation of the engines" by pulling the fire handles in the cockpit. It's common for off-duty pilots to ride in the jump seat on their way to commute to or from work, or to major air travel hubs. Before the incident, though, the on-duty pilots reported “zero indication of anything wrong” with Emerson, a commercial pilot with Alaska Airlines. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A new University of Hawaii study found that intense category four and five hurricanes are forming earlier each decade as the climate changes. The research was co-authored by University of Hawaii professor of atmospheric sciences Pao-Shin Chu, who also serves as the Hawaii State Climatologist. Chu and his team found that since the 1980s, hurricanes with wind speeds of 131+ miles per hour are developing three to four days earlier each decade as the climate warms. That means intense hurricanes are now developing half of a month earlier than they did 40 years ago.The factor to blame is the earlier onset of favorable oceanic conditions, according to the authors. While changes in the number and intensity of hurricanes in a changing climate are fairly well-studied, little was known about the seasonality of the storms before Chu and his co-authors conducted this study.By analyzing satellite data, historical tropical cyclone tracks, rainfall records and various statistical met...Before investigation was revealed, Gophers football changed play-call process for Michigan game

The Gophers football program altered a key in-game process when it played the Michigan Wolverines for the Little Brown Jug on Oct. 7.On Sept. 30, players on Minnesota’s offense looked to the sideline for play-call signals during the 35-24 win over Louisiana. But in Michigan’s 52-10 win the following Saturday, the Gophers huddled before plays, with quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis often consulting a play card on his left wrist band. The Gophers offense huddled again in last Saturday’s 12-10 victory at Iowa.Twelve days after the Minnesota-Michigan game, the Big Ten said the NCAA was investigating allegations of sign stealing by the Wolverines. The process of trying to glean what the other team is signaling from the sideline pre-snap is permitted during games, but scouting future opponents in-person has been prohibited since 1994.Gophers coach P.J. Fleck was asked about the Michigan investigation on Monday; all he shared to the Pioneer Press was that the Gophers huddled up to make p...Glens Falls woman arrested for alleged narcotics sales

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A New York based nonprofit organization that works with the Jewish community funded Governor Kathy Hochul's trip to Israel last week. Despite multiple questions, Hochul’s team has yet to release the name of that organization. "We accomplished what we needed to— have me witness firsthand the devastation of communities directly," said Hochul at a press conference on Monday. With New York State having the highest Jewish population outside of Israel, Governor Hochul said the mission of her trip was to show support for the country and reinforce President Biden’s message."Which is, we need to make sure there’s humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza to make sure that the hostages are a top priority including those from New York with New York connections, but also reinforce Israel’s right to defend itself," explained Hochul. On Monday, Hochul reiterated what her office had told reporters previously, that the state is paying only for her security detail."The state poli...Latest news
